Earlier this month I had an event I had to attend, which required me to stay over night in Sydney. Like a lot of other families, I didn’t have that extra support or option to leave my youngest behind so he tagged along, firmly attached to my hip as always. One of my biggest concerns when trying to work out how this was going to work was finding family friendly accommodation with easy access to everything we needed while there.
Now, I wasn’t staying alone either.. no, we were in fact a mixed bag of goodies, a beautifully temporarily blended family consisting of my two girl friends; Bec from That Mum Wife Travel life and her little girl Nyles, who is also the same age as Tayney (we inadvertently had twins over the two days in Sydney, with complements a plenty) and Kirst from The Mummysomniac.
Low and behold, in the mass challenge to find suitable accommodation that met all our needs, we found The Oaks Goldsborough.
The Oaks Goldsborough is in the heart of darling harbor just meters from the water and shopping complex’ but ideally located off a quiet street, which made it the perfect choice. We were able to walk straight into the harbor via a quiet off street walk way accessible from The Oak Goldsborough building and were met with the old time styled beauty of their grand entrance from the quiet off street access when we arrived via taxi.
Upon arrival the staff at The Oaks Goldsborough went above and beyond, checking our luggage safely into a locked room, while we waited for our penthouse apartment to be ready ( we arrived 4 hours prior to check in) The staff done the best they could to hurry this process for us and offered advice on local attractions to see and things to do through their onsite tour desk.
We had a quick tour of the Hotel, which had the most beautiful indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym. If only we had time to enjoy such things ourself.
Our penthouse apartment was split level living with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry, kitchen and lounge/dining, with harbor views, access to Foxtel on their TV and provided us with two cots for the children.
Unfortunately for me, Tayne ended up getting quite sick during our stay and I had to get an after hours home service GP to visit. The staff helped provide safe and secure access for us and the GP with their 24 hour reception, with the visit taking place in the early hours of the morning at 2am.
Our stay at The Oaks Goldsborough was pleasant, with them providing everything we needed and friendly face.
